Why, please tell me, why do they still bother? Volvo can sit back and relax, just like the old people who drive them, to ensure safety. Mercedes-Benz has been the allround leader of the pack, even though it wasn't the strongest engines or best suspensions, they always introduce new technologies that all the other manufacturers would use 6 months later.
Well then, why does people still buy BMW or Audi if we can see Mercedes-Benz is the most up-to-date?I can tell you, its a simple question with a simple answer. Its because every person has his own style, and Mercedes-Benz goes simultaneously with the "old-mans" car.
BMW on the other hand , is the leader of the pack in allround driving pleasure, good performance and exceptionally great handling. After 25 years of producing the M-group, BMW still leads in performance and ride comfort.BMW gets all this , with rear-wheel drive and high-revving engines thats naturally aspirated.BMW doesn't use all these fancy high-tech stuff like VDC and a "crown-differential" to put the power to road . We only use the best engineering and best history to build on, to build the best cars people can ever wish for.
Audi wants to win BMW so bad, producing firstly the Audi RS4 to compete with the E46 BMW M3.The BMW had only a naturally aspirated 3.2L straight-six engine to produce power and it did 0-100 in 5.3s. Not bad hey, but listen what Audi came up with. An Audi RS4 with a 4.2L V8 engine to compete and take BMW apart. Audi had 309kw and BMW had 252kw. Not bad if you keep in mind that both was naturally aspirated and the BMW had only 57 kw less than the Audi and a full 1L smaller engine. So what then , its obvious that the Audi had to win. Then BMW released the new BMW M3 E92 with a 4.0L V8 engine that produced 309kw and it ripped the Audi RS4 apart.
It wasted the Audi by so much, that Audi decided to stop producing the Audi RS4 and rather bring out the new Audi RS5 with 331kw and a normal 4.2L engine. Even though they brought out the best they could, the papers said that the BMW M3 could only do 0-100 in 4.7s and the Audi RS5's papers said it did it in 4.5s. Well , as always, Audi lied to their fellow auto-manufacturers. On the papers it said that the RS5 would take out the BMW M3 without any trouble, but in the real world and through all the tests they proved Audi wrong again. The BMW M3 wins in every case, even though it is already 3 years old and still underpowered. Lets just say , that BMW has the racing and proven driving pleasure to beat any contender even if it has a bigger engine and a bigger price-tag. BMW is bringing a new car to the pack, the new 2012 BMW M3 , claimed to produce 420kw.
